When should you schedule a newborn twin’s photography session?
Twin newborns generally arrive much earlier than the due date given. At least so far, every newborn pair has arrived very early.
Babies would arrive around 4 weeks early and would be put into the NICU under observation. They would be really small, very often around 5 lb/2.3kg. Sometimes one of them could even be under that weight. This also would mean that babies could be a bit skinny. My preference would be to wait out a bit, let the weight grow to around 6lb, and then do the session.
I first met these lovely parents during their maternity session here in Milton Keynes, and from the very beginning, it felt like I had known them forever. They were so excited to meet their twin boys, and it was clear just how loved these babies already were. Their arrival may have been a surprise, but these little boys were wanted, cherished, and welcomed with so much love.
A few weeks later, they came back to my studio for their newborn twin photoshoot in Milton Keynes, and it was such a special session to capture. The room was filled with cuddles, sleepy snuggles, and all those beautiful little moments that make the newborn stage so unforgettable.

Their twin boys were absolutely adorable together. One of my favourite parts of the session was photographing them side by side, peacefully settled next to each other with their tiny hands touching from time to time. Even at just a few days old, you could already see the strong bond they shared.

Mum and dad were amazing throughout the newborn photoshoot. They were calm, patient, and completely in love with their boys. The whole session felt relaxed and natural, which allowed me to capture genuine moments between them as a new family of four. Those little in-between moments — the proud smiles, gentle kisses, and loving cuddles — are always the memories parents treasure the most.
