There’s something incredibly special about expecting twins. I still remember photographing a lovely mum who laughed and said, “Everyone keeps asking if I’m due tomorrow!” We both laughed, but behind that smile was excitement, anticipation, and so much love for the two babies she was about to meet.
As a maternity photographer in Milton Keynes, moments like these remind me that every twin pregnancy deserves to be celebrated.
Keep the Photos Simple and Meaningful
Some of the most beautiful maternity photographs don’t need elaborate setups. A flowing dress, soft natural light, and your hands gently resting on your bump are often enough. The real beauty comes from the connection between you and your babies.
When we planned this maternity session, my client knew exactly how she wanted it to feel—soft, romantic, and full of dreamy floral vibes. She chose two beautiful gowns from my client’s wardrobe: a stunning red gown that made a bold, elegant statement, and a delicate lilac gown that brought a gentle, ethereal feel to the session.
The rich red created striking portraits that celebrated the beauty and strength of pregnancy, while the flowing lilac dress blended perfectly with the flowers and soft light, creating the dreamy look she had imagined. Together, the two outfits gave us a lovely mix of timeless elegance and whimsical charm.

Include the People You Love
If your partner can join the session, those quiet moments together often become favourites. A gentle hug, a kiss on your bump, or simply looking at each other says more than any pose ever could.

When Should You Book a Twin Maternity Photoshoot?
Twin pregnancies can progress a little faster, so I usually recommend planning your maternity photo shoot between 28 and 32 weeks. Your bump is beautifully visible, and most mums still feel comfortable enough to enjoy being photographed.
You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose
One thing I hear all the time is, “I’m so awkward in front of the camera.” The truth is, you don’t need to know what to do. My job is to guide you naturally, so you can simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Photographs That Tell the Beginning of Their Story
One day, your twins will look back at these photographs and see where their journey began. They won’t notice if your hair isn’t perfect or if you feel tired that day. They’ll see the love, the excitement, and the beautiful chapter before they enter the world.
