FAQ related to newborn photography
Q- When Is The Best Time To Book A Newborn Session?
A- To give my clients the most customized experience I take a very limited amount of sessions per month therefore typically book up 2-3 months in advance. I would give you a provisional date according to the due date which would change according to the newborn arrival.
Q- What is the best age for photographing newborns?
Newborn Baby photography sessions are best scheduled within the first 21 days of birth when the baby is still very sleepy and fresh out of the womb so that they are easily mouldable into those cute little poses that you see. This way we get the beautiful sleepy, curly poses you see in my portfolio.
Q-My baby was already born, can I still book newborn photos?
It’s normal for life to get busy, and looking forward to your baby’s arrival often becomes the most important thing. Depending on when our scheduled babies arrive, your newborn photographer may have last-minute session availability so if your baby is already here, please reach out to see if I can still accommodate you.
Q- Where Do Sessions Take Place?
A- Newborn Sessions take place in Indoor settings. Studio location information is provided in the booking confirmation email.
Q- What is the best time of day to take newborn photos?
The ideal time to take photos of newborns is in the morning when they are usually more relaxed and sleepy. As the day goes on, babies can become more stimulated and fussy, leading to more wakefulness.
Q- Are parents and siblings included in newborn sessions?
Absolutely, yes. Parents and siblings are included in all the packages. Check the pricing here – newborn photography.
Q- Is my baby too old for newborn photos?
Certainly! There’s flexibility in capturing newborn photos even if your baby is over two to three weeks old. I have photographed plenty of babies beyond 3 weeks old. Newborn photography sessions can be scheduled for babies up to 4 weeks old. However, as babies grow older, their behavior during photo sessions may change. They become more explorative, stretching out instead of curling up, and tend to be more awake.
Q- How long will the newborn session last?
A- There is no way to determine how long a newborn session will take. It all depends on the baby, but approximately two to four hours. So, please schedule your day accordingly. We keep sessions relaxed & low-stress.
Q- Is newborn photography safe? Baby Safety During Newborn Sessions!
A- The answer is yes! That said, you will want to make sure you are entrusting your baby to not only someone skilled at photography but also at working with babies.
I always make sure the health and safety of your newborn is their first concern. Safety always comes first, which is why I am fully trained in safe newborn posing. My photo sessions are always baby-led; you will never be rushed and will always have time for feeds and diaper changes to ensure you get the best from your experience. Q- Can I recommend any specific poses?
A- Yes, you can recommend poses but it would depend on the baby and how they are feeling. Due to safety reasons, I will try not but guarantee specific poses. I like to do what the baby likes and not force any poses. Some babies just do not like specific poses. That is what makes a newborn session unique.
