Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?

I am based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

What is your style of photography?

My photography tells the story of your wedding day in a style that is often referred to as a perfect balance between documentary or reportage and stunning contemporary portraiture. I want to capture the spirit and emotion of the day whilst remaining discreet and unobtrusive. Leaving you with an album or set of images that will let you remember the day as it actually happened, and not simply a series of posed shots. I can show here the full wedding coverages I did recently.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I can travel to London, Bedford, Northampton, Luton, Leicester, Cambridge, Oxford, and the surrounding area. Travel within Milton Keynes is included in all the packages; for other areas, there will be some additional expenses. I’ll always make sure these are stated clearly in the original quote.

What equipment do you use?

I am a Nikon mirrorless shooter. My kit is 2 x Nikon Z cameras, with an array of prime and zoom lenses. I always carry backup equipment in case of an accident or failure.

How do I go about confirming a booking? Do you require a deposit?

If you’re happy that I’m the photographer for you, all you have to do is call or e-mail to let me know you’d like to book. I’ll then send you a booking form & contract to complete and return to me. A non-refundable £200 deposit is required to complete the booking. Details of how to pay the deposit will be included in the booking detail email.

Could we meet you before booking?

Yeah Sure. We can meet in my Milton Keynes studio, or we can meet at a beautiful location local to Milton Keynes for our pre-wedding shoot.

Do I provide pre-wedding Photoshoots?

Yes, I believe a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to become familiar with me. You can opt for an engagement/pre-wedding/ proposal photoshoot, which gives you the chance become comfortable in front of the camera.

I don’t like posing for photos. Will we have to pose?

You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. It’s your wedding after all. If you look through my portfolio, you’ll see that there are plenty of photos of couples that aren’t posed, yet still capture the moments you’ll both share during the day. If you want a few posed photos, our meeting before the wedding will have made you feel comfortable enough so that we can have fun with the shoot and create some images you’ll love.

What will be the best medium for communication?

Once booked, I’ll set up a WhatsApp chat group for easy communication. I will also meet in person for a complimentary pre-wedding photoshoot to get to know each other.

Do we have to provide food for you?

Not at all—I bring my own 🙂 Wedding catering can be pricey, and I don’t think it’s fair for you to pay extra for a meal for me. I’m perfectly happy with my own food and actually prefer the flexibility of eating when it suits me.

Do we need the list of images you want?

I will send you a wedding detail sheet to complete so we have a good understanding of your day and your expectations. Since my photography style is natural and documentary, I aim to capture your day as it unfolds organically.

What happens after our wedding?

I will send you some sneak peeks within 1 week of your wedding day.
Then, after 6 weeks, you will receive all photos delivered via an online gallery.

If you have opted for an album, you’ll get a few weeks to choose your favorites for your album. Once your choice has been returned, an online link to view the draft layout of your album will be sent within 2 weeks, so you can fully approve the whole album, or if you wish, make some amendments. If there are any amendments, another draft layout with your changes will be sent again. This will be done until you fully approve the whole album.
Once I receive full approval, your album will be sent off to be made and will take about 6 weeks to complete and be returned to you.

Who will shoot our wedding?

I, Rachana, will be the main photographer for your wedding day. You can opt for a Second Photographer for an additional charge for big weddings.

What if you are unable to attend on the day of the wedding?

In the highly unlikely event that I wouldn’t be able to attend the wedding, but if for some awful reason (I would have to be on my deathbed) I couldn’t make the wedding, I have other brilliant photographers who work together to cover in an emergency. They would only photograph your day, but I would still edit your wedding. But I would like to reassure you that this is very unlikely and always the last possible option.

How long does it take for you to deliver our photographs?

I take editing very seriously. I love the editing process, so I do take a lot of time to perfect it, and I never rush it, which means, in peak wedding season, I allow 6 weeks turnaround.

How are photos delivered to us?

You will receive all images through an online gallery and USB (for the full wedding package), where you can download high-resolution files straight from your gallery as many times as you like.

Do you offer Raw files?

I don’t provide RAW Format photos.

What is the cancellation policy?

The client may cancel at any time with written notice. If canceled more than 10 weeks before the event, a non-refundable booking fee is charged.

Do you back up our photos? How do we ensure that our photos won’t be lost?

On the day of the wedding, both of my cameras save files to two memory cards simultaneously, creating an instant backup and reducing the risk of data loss.
During the break, I take backups of my photos taken in between times. Once I am back in my studio, I back up all the data in two separate drives and keep an extra copy in the cloud. In my 7 years of experience, touchwood, I have never lost any data.
After editing, your images are uploaded to a private gallery. I will also keep wedding files for 3 months after your event.

Do I need to sign any contract form?

Yes, we have a mandatory contract for you to sign so everything is clear and well-planned. This helps make your wedding day smooth and stress-free. Let me know if you have any questions—I’d be happy to chat!

Q- What do you mean by un-edited images?

These are Straight out of the camera images for selection purposes. We do not process these images at all. The same number of un-edited images is shared with you as specified in your package.
