Family Newborn photoshoot
Newborn days pass by so quickly, and Phoebe’s session was such a lovely reminder of why capturing these moments matters so much. At Papaya Peach Photography, based in Milton Keynes, I get to photograph families at one of the most special times in their lives—and this session was full of warmth and love.
Phoebe reached out to book her newborn family photoshoot and chose a package with 25 images. Her baby was already one month old, and she really didn’t want to miss capturing this stage. I explained that although the ideal newborn window is between 5 and 14 days, we could still create beautiful newborn-style images with a slightly more awake and expressive baby. And honestly, it worked out so beautifully.
1. Portraits of a baby
A. Wrapped poses in green pastel colour
For his individual portraits, Mum chose a soft pastel green colour for his wrapped poses, which looked so calm and beautiful on him. She also loved the idea of adding a little swing setup, and it turned out so sweet and playful. He was in such a good mood the whole time—completely settled, happy, and just going with the flow.
At one month, babies are a bit more aware and keep giving us these beautiful, wide-eyed looks. We ended up getting so many lovely eye-open shots, full of curiosity and expression, which made his gallery even more special.

B. Student setup and moon & stars setup
For his prop setups, mum had such lovely ideas—she asked for a student-themed setup and a moon & stars setup, which added such a fun and meaningful touch to the session. The student setup was really cute and playful, while the moon and stars setup brought in a soft, dreamy feel. Combined with the pastel green wrapped poses and the sweet swing setup, it gave a really beautiful variety to his gallery. He stayed so happy and settled throughout, and with those little wide-eyed expressions, we captured some truly special moments.
Newborns change so quickly—honestly, within days. That tiny stage, those little features, the way they fit perfectly in your arms… it doesn’t last long at all. It’s so easy to think “we’ll do it later,” but later comes fast—and suddenly this stage is gone.
Even if you feel like you’ve missed the “perfect” window, you really haven’t. Capturing your baby at one month is still so meaningful. Because at the end of the day, having these memories is always better than having none at all.

2. Family newborn photoshoot
A. Family portraits with a newborn baby in plain white backdrop
For the family portraits, we kept it simple and timeless with a plain white backdrop. It really made everyone stand out—the baby, Phoebe, and the whole family—without any distractions. The little one looked so peaceful and settled, and big brother was full of excitement, which made the shots so natural and full of warmth.

B. Fine art mummy and me
For the fine art “Mummy and Me” part of the session, I provided a beautiful gown for Phoebe as part of her package, so she didn’t have to worry about a thing. We did some soft, lying-down poses that felt really intimate and natural, capturing that quiet, tender connection between mother and baby. Then we moved on to a few shots with an artistic background, giving the images a dreamy, timeless feel.

C. Family photos in Boho setup
For the third set of family photos, we used the boho setup with the beautiful peacock chair. The family looked relaxed and connected, and the chair added a stylish, whimsical touch, creating timeless and cozy portraits.
